The insect order Thysanoptera comprises two suborders, Terebrantia and Tubulifera. Worldwide, eight families are recognised in the Terebrantia, but only one family in the Tubulifera. (see details see ThripsID; also Thysanoptera (Thrips) of the World – a checklist). In Australia, only five of the nine families have been found. |
