otostigminae=The Otostigminae is a subfamily of the Scolopendridae distinguished by the possession of very large, round or oval spiracles with their long axes facing vertically or diagonally. The subfamily contains 8 genera and 150 species (cf. Hoffman 1982: 684; who refers to the subfamily as "Otostigmatinae"), and can be found throughout much of the tropics and southern parts of the Northern Hemisphere. Three genera and 13 species are recorded from Australia, and a key to genera was provided by Koch (1983).
