Diagnosis

Petiole present and long.
Gaster with third tergite at least as long as second and sometimes longer.
Occiput without carina.

Overview

Trigonogastrella is known only from Australia, where there are 2 described species (Boucek, 1988; Noyes, 2002; 2003). Species are parasitoids of Diptera, especially (or perhaps exclusively) Agromyzidae, mining in leaves or other parts of herbaceous plants (Boucek, 1988; Noyes 2002; 2003).

Boucek (1988) includes Trigonogastrella in his keys to genera of Australasian Pteromalidae.
