Petiole present and long.
Gaster with second tergite the longest, distinctly longer than third, and the hind margin of the first tergite usually concave.
Occiput without carina.

Comments

There are at least two, and possibly more, species of Sphegigaster associated with leafminers in Southeast Asia. We have been unable to put species names on these species. These species are collected quite infrequently, and do not appear to play a major role in the system.
